Should You Get The New Wii Sports Resort Game

Posted on 06 August 2009 by Jimmy Calhoun

Need a new game to play this summer? Out this week is a new release from Nintendo of its long awaited new Wii games this year – the new Wii Sports Resort, which is based on the old Wii Sports.

You’ll find that there is a lot from the old version in this one, Wii Sports Resort, which provides an update to the former Wii Sports game that usually came bundled with many Wii console packages at the time when Wii console had first been released a couple years back. The Sports Resort game includes some new sports, and has new features which all take full advantage of the new Wii MotionPlus accessory, also being released this month.

With the new MotionPlus accessory, which gets attached to the Wii controller, you have more control for playing when moving the motion sensitive Wiimote controller. In this new Wii Sports Resort game there are a grand total of 12 different sports, some new, like archery, swordplay, jet skiing, and sky diving which were not in the former version, and are designed to use the MotionPlus.

For some of the reviewers at game sites around the Web, the reviews say that it does appear that the new games use the MotionPlus technology in a interesting and fun way, but generally they don’t go as far as some would like. The games can leave the player with the feeling that they want much more to do with the new controller and the games. The technology works best in the new included games like swordplay and archery where the better control feature makes the game a lot more interesting.

Also, it enhances the older games too including bowling and golf which have been improved to make them more fun using this version. There has been some disappointment though among reviewers since there are some technical issues apparently which cause problems, for example having to recalibrate the controller all the time. It’s also being said that not all games, for example the wakeboarding game and piloting a plane, have come out as interesting as they could be compared to the swordplay and archery games.

If there are some gamers that might get bored with just more sports, and also just mini games, still there might be some fun in using the new controller MotionPlus accessory. However it does sound like for most gamers, this will be a great game to add Wii Sports Resort to your Wii games collection to practice using the new Wii MotionPlus accessory.

Amazing New Features Make Nintendo Wii Still A Hot Game Console

Posted on 19 July 2009 by Jane Calhoun

You might have heard some hard core gamers saying the Nintendo Wii console is over, nothing left to look forward to. They argue that everyone has already bought one, and the “serious” gamers will never play the Wii, so who else is left? What other reason to buy? Yet the Nintendo Wii phenomenon is far from over, and appeals more than ever to non-gamers, adults, kids and even seniors.

You can find dozens of excellent reasons to own a Wii console. First, it’s so simple to get it set up, by plugging in a few cables, and position the remote sensor, and off you go. It’s also a breeze to play even for the youngest kids. Games range from very simple like Mario Party 8, for the kids, up to more involved challenges like Zelda Twilight Princess.

So, you don’t have to be an expert, or a serious gamer, or even a parent to want the Wii and have a lot of fun with it. There’s also the Nintendo Wii Fit, with its balance board, that lets you do yoga, strength exercises, keep on a weight loss program, and track your progress. There are also new games coming out like EA Sports Active that will challenge just about anyone, gamer or not.

Not only does the Wii have these accessible features for everyone, Nintendo is keeping up the innovation with new accessories and plans for future consoles. Newly released is the Wii MotionPlus, a new accessory to make the Wii motion-sensitive controller even more reactive and fine tuned to every movement. To take advantage of the MotionPlus, a new release of Wii Sports, called Wii Sports Resort, has been released too.

For anyone still thinking about buying a console, take a look at the new Wii Fit bundles which include the console packaged with the Sports Resort game and the MotionPlus. There are also bundles which include the console and any other type of game you can think of, kids games, sports games, even Mario Kart for Wii along with extra steering wheels.

Last but not least are all the great downloadable games that are available on the Wii Channel. With a wireless network at home, Wii owners can get access to hundreds of additional games online, including Super Mario and Donkey Kong arcade games, plus games like Defend Your Castle and My Life As A King. The bottom line is, Nintendo is aiming to provide a fun product for people regardless of age or gaming experience, and the fun will keep going to a long time to come!

Get These New Gotta-Have Features For Wii Console

Posted on 26 June 2009 by Sue Calhoun

It seems the Wii console is everywhere, with lot of people buying the Nintendo Wii to play with family or friends. The Wii Fit accessory helped accelerate the console sales appealing to users other than just gamers and kids. Can the Nintendo Wii game system hold its own?

Nintendo has released or will be releasing plenty of new stuff. One big release was in May 2009 of the new Wii MotionPlus accessory. This accessory adds better control to the Wii’s motion-sensitive controller, so playing games is more accurate. Players can improve their play in things like golf and tennis, as well as battle games. To take advantage of the MotionPlus, a new version of Wii Sports is out, caled Wii Sports Resort.

There is also a new sports bundle available using the new Sports Resort game and including the MotionPlus. Many of the new games are bundled with a console, since new users may not have purchased the console yet, but are motivated to do so with the new game releases.

Something Nintendo still has in development is the “vitality sensor”, which is going to be a fingertip sensor which clips on your finger, and then reads your bio-rhythms with a light sensor. The idea is that this sensor will read your brain waves, giving you a biofeedback experience. Could Meditation for Wii be far behind? think of the uses: Teachers could use this in class to help students with focus, improve attention and other benefits. Anyone could use it at home to lower blood pressure., the possiilities are endless, if it works! This is theoretically to be released in 2010.

Nintendo keeps attracting plenty of non-gamers to its console, with new games and fun for anyone, not just gamers. The perfect example is the Wii Fit which was huge for Nintendo, and helps anyone of any age start and maintain a fitness program using the balance board to work out, track progress, and build workout routines.

Nintendo and its game partners are releasing more sports games too, which means Wii Sports bundles will have great options for games and accessories. Two new ones are Virtua Tennis from Sega and Grand Slam Tennis from EA Sports. Grand Slam Tennis takes advantage of the new MotionPlus.

Also just look at the new release, EA Sports Active, which gives users a sensor pad to help track body movements while running in place or doing other exercises. These are the kinds of new games and accessories that are going to keep the Wii console in the top of all game systems.
