How To Soft Mod Nintendo Wii

Posted on 22 January 2010 by Dana Goldberg

Gamers have never had it so good; what with the PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 and many other options to be found. However, one of the most popular consoles is the Nintendo Wii of course, though the fun to be had is tempered by the cost of games. And it is this that is the major benefit to be had from a Softmod Wii

The number of games to be had from Softmodding a Wii is also increased; bringing access to downloads and, excellently, imports that are often regionalized. It is a relatively straight forward process too, relying on software to make the changes necessary rather than hardware changes that can be complicated.

Best of all perhaps, is that unlike a chip installation, the warranty will not be voided. It is a cheap process to do too; just ensure you know what you are doing and the guide you follow is from somewhere reputable.

There are plenty of tutorials online to help with the process, which most people should be able to manage. Failing that however, a friend who has a bit of know how could do the job. Once complete, it will also allow for older games, from previous consoles to be played too. Finally those old ’64′ and Sega games can be dusted off.

Other benefits include giving the ability to play backup games which, as any seasoned gamer will admit, can in itself save a small fortune. The benefits continue with the ability to also play DVDs; standard or imported. This again is a huge cost saving to be had of course, but also allows for more interesting versions to be found and played.

Unlocking the true potential of the console is the major benefit of a Softmod Wii, allowing it to do so much more than a standard kit can. Good luck and happy gaming!

Now is a great time to be a gamer, with so many great consoles and great games to while away the hours on. One of the most popular consoles out there is the softmod wii, offering fun for the entire family. More info on softmodding wii .

How To Mod Wii

Posted on 07 January 2010 by Dana Goldberg

You might be among the millions and millions of people that own a Nintendo Wii. What you might not have known is that these consoles can be modified or reconfigured to perform tasks they weren’t originally created to accomplish. Mod Wii, is the term you would use if your system has been modified.

The majority of these millions of owners do not modify their consoles. There is a lot of risk involved. So if you are thinking about attempting this you have to be aware of two of the worst case scenarios. The first is that you, through inexperience and poor planning ruin your console completely. Secondly, should Nintendo learn of a modification (as they likely would from you sending it in) it would void the warranty.

Should you be someone that knows what they are doing, than you could probably take advantage of these mods. If you aren’t completely aware of the detailed process, I recommend you reading into it thoroughly before attempting anything on your Wii.

If you look into them, there are two main modifications being done to Wiis. Granted, there are likely more than this, but these are the two most common. The emulator is the top mod. This program allows you to burn Wii games, Wii channels, Wii Ware, or other Nintendo/Sega console titles onto a DVD+R and play them in your console.

The second mod allows you to watch DVDs on your console. This is popular because the Wii is the only high selling gaming system right now that doesn’t have this capability. Not only are you then able to watch regular DVDs, you can also watch burned DVD files and the like. No high def movies though, at least not yet.

You will find through a little bit of research that there are many more modifications you can do to your console. Remember though, get all the details for the mod, and take your time. Otherwise, you might end up with a ruined console and nothing you can do about it.

Using the new softmod wii is easy! You can get all of the pieces you need for your mod wii whenever you need them.

Mario Kart Wii Review

Posted on 06 November 2009 by Lance Baker

I’m in love with Mario Kart Wii. There, I said it. This game has gotten the best of me, and I’ve been addicted to it for well over a year now. It’s crazy to admit the truth, but I don’t see myself letting up on this game any time soon either.

If I told you that just about anyone could play this game and pick it up quickly, I wouldn’t be lying. I have a five year old cousin who was able to win a race in the novice mode her first time trying.

As far as the reasons for praising this game so much go, if you’ve ever played any Mario Kart game, you know how addicting and fun it can be. This game will remind you very much of any other Mario Kart game you’ve played, but the kicker is the technology.

Basically, you’re given a wheel to plug your remote into, which allows you to wirelessly steer your driver during every race. This is an extremely accurate wheel, and it genuinely turns exactly as you do as you’re turning the wheel.

As far as the levels on the game, they’re all very challenging and a lot of fun. One of the best things to take advantage of in Mario Kart Wii is the online mode, which happens to be my personal favorite way to play the game.

In online mode, you’re able to join races of anywhere from 2 to 11 cars. The best part about it is that it’s all live, and your opponents are other owners of the game. It’s a really enjoyable challenge, and I’m seriously addicted to it. There’s also a point structure that rewards you when you win.

As far as the ranks are concerned, you’ll gain ranking points when you do well in a race, and you’ll lose them when you slack. The best part about it is the fact that it measures strength of competition, making it accurate and fair.

This is the best game I’ve ever bought for my Nintendo Wii, and possibly one of the best video games I’ve ever played.

About the author: When I’m not playing this game, I’m writing about bathroom sconces and bathroom vanity lights.
